Characters: Rikki-Tikki-Tavi-Young Mongoose, Nag-Cobra, Nagaina-Nag’s Wife, Darzee-Tailorbirds, Teddy-Son of Mrs. White and Mr. White, Chuchundra-Musk Rat

 

Exposition: A young mongoose who was living on the side of the road, is called Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. This young mongoose got swept away from his family because of a flood. No one cared for him and left him dying, until a young boy named Teddy, noticed him and took him to shelter.

 

Rising Action: Rikki was a curious mongoose where after he was healed started exploring the house curiously. The Teddy family was a little afraid from this mongoose, but Teddy’s Father told them there is nothing to be scared of. The family’s kindness and trust allow Rikki to feel comfortable at home.

 

Climax: Two cobra snakes called Nag and Nagaina invaded the Teddy family’s backyard, making it dangerous. Nag decided to leave the backyard and enter the bathroom to kill the humans. He then falls asleep while waiting for the humans to wake up, but the young mongoose spotted Nag and went in with a great attack. Afterwards he defeats Nag. And then suddenly, a dusty brown snake ling named Karait goes in for the attack on Teddy. Fortunately, Rikki saved Teddy by defeating Karait.

 

Resolution: One last snake remained, and it was Nagaina. The young mongoose with no fear, went in for the attack to attempt killing Nagaina. Nagiana then finally gets eliminated, and Rikki considered the hero of the Teddy Family, makes the backyard safe.

 

Summary: Rikki-Tikki-Tavi is a young Indian Grey mongoose that got swept from a flood. A young boy named Teddy found him and rescued him. Later on this curious mongoose saved the Teddy Family by killing two cobras named Nag and Nagaina and making the backyard safe again.

 

My Opinion: In my opinion, I did like the story because it was astonishing to read. (Rikki-Tikki-Tavi by Rudyard Kipling) was great to read because it was interesting.
